Rebel Foods, which operates cloud kitchen brands such as Behrouz Biryani, Mandarin Oak, Ovenstory Pizza and Faasos, is all set to foray into the capital market in the next 18-24 months. The company even plans to enter new markets in Asia and the Middle East
Rebel Foods was founded by Jaydeep Barman and Kallol Banerjee under the name Faasos. Which is a Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) chain. Initially it used to sell kebab rolls online.
Seeing the demand for online delivery, the company completely changed its business model and in 2016 it was transformed into cloud-kitchen only and the company closed all its outlets
Presently Rebel Foods is one of the largest internet restaurant companies in India. The company has more than a dozen broads. Apart from its own app, the company sells everything from Biryani to Chinese, Pizza, Wraps and Desserts through Zomato and Swiggy.
Sequoia Capital India, Lightbox ventures, Coatue, Goldman Sachs, Gojek, and Uber founder Travis Kalanick have investments in the company. The company was valued at $800 million in the latest round of funding in 2020.
