India s space agency ISRO launched 104 satellites in a single mission in 2017 from Sriharikota Space Center. Most of them were US satellites. It was a record at that time. Earlier this record was in the name of Russia. ISRO completed this mission with a PSLV rocket. The mission was just led by ISRO chairman K Sivan.

The previous record is of launching 108 satellites. These were launched from the Cygnus mission in November 2018.

SpaceX s previous record is of 64 satellites. This mission, named SSO-A, was launched in December 2018. Transporter-1, using the Polar Corridor route from Florida, was the second mission after 1969.

The 143 satellites launched include 48 Earth imaging satellites from the US and Germany, 17 communication satellites and 30 smaller satellites. The Falcon-9 rocket sent Shoe Box-sized cubesets and a much heavier micro satellite to the orbit.
